内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The purposes of this study are: (1) to examine the influence of the way of life upon the physical fitness of students in Miyazaki Women's Junior College; (2) to prove the influence of dieting upon physical fitness; and (3) to examine the data in 1985 which tells us that the physical fitness of the students in the primary education department is superior to that of the students in the Japanese literature department. The subjects for the examination (1) are 112 students randomly chosen from the primary education department and the Japanese literature department. They were divided into five groups : students who belong to sports club (Group 1); those who come to school on foot or by bicycle (G2); those who do not do any regular exercise except for working part time or some house work (G3); those who do not do any exercise at all (G4); and those who used to belong to sports club when they were in high school and do not do any exercise right now (G5). The students' physical fitness was examined within two months of entering the college. There were twelve subjects for the second test. They were from the primary education department and the Japanese literature department. They did not do any exercise except tor taking P.E. classes, and their physical fitness was examined before and after beeing on a diet for a month. The data for the third examination was taken from all of the first year students in the primary education department (113 students) and the Japanese literature department(93). The first test showed there were improvements in the muscular power, flexibility, and the muscular strength of the subjects in Group 1. And the muscular power was found to be also increased in Group 3. The general endurance declined in all groups except for Group 2. The group of students who tried a diet lost 2.25 kg on average, and there were some effects on improving the vertical jump and the standing trunk flexion, and slight improvement in the points of step test.
