| 内容記述 | The author takes a critical pedagogical approach in making a exploratory content analysis of an EFL textbook written for Japanese college students. The targeted textbook is tested to determine if its rubric activates learner talk on money-related issues using WH-questions at a significantly higher level than comparable textbooks, with positive results. The author suggests that this is misaligned with the needs of the target users and argues that such textbooks are counter-productive to teachers seeking to encourage their students to develop counter-discourses to the dominant economic paradigm through English. | |||||
