| 内容記述 | 当該論文は、コンテント・ベースの語学クラスで、インテグレイテッド・スキル・アクティビティーを使って授業を行うことに興味のある教師を対象にしている。ここで紹介するアクティビティーは、宮崎国際大学の政治学概論の一年生の授業で実際に使われているものである。毎週行われるこのアクティビティーで、学生は、まず新聞から政治に関する記事を選び出す。そして各自で記事を選び出す。そして各自で記事を読み概要を把握する。その概要を使って個人の意見や記事の内容をまとめた要約を書く。次に、ペアを組んだ聞き手に、口頭で自分のニュースを報告する。この際聞き手はノートを取り、質問をする。このアクティビティーを通じて学生はクリティカル・シンキングの力を身につける。更に、アクティビティーの性質上、常に読むこと、書くこと、聞くこと、話すことを繰り返すため、流暢に、そして正確に言語を学習するようになる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This article is aimed at teachers who are interested in using integrated skills activities in content-based language classes. The particular activity discussed here is used in a first-year introduction to political science class at Miyazaki International College. In this weekly activity, students choose news articles dealing with political issues. Each student reads an article and outlines its main points. From the outline, the student writes a summary and a personal reaction to the contents of the article. Then once a week each student orally explains his/her news story to a partner who asks clarification questions and takes notes. The activity provides the students a forum for critical thinking. In addition, language fluency and accuracy issues are addressed by the great deal of regular practice in reading, wiring, listening and speaking the activity requires. | |||||
