| 内容記述 | 情報技術はアフリカの開発に対処する際に有望な切り札の手段になると言える。情報技術による利益が期待される開発領域は極めて広く、通商、金融、製造、農業、教育、医学、娯楽や自然環境にまで及ぶ。その状況からは開発途上国発展のために行われている努力に比して情報技術の際立った貢献がうかがえるが、本稿はその可能性を開発経済学的視点から詳細に論じようとするものである。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Information technology (IT) can be seen as the latest in a long list of instruments of promise to address Sub Saharan AfricaOs development needs. The fields of development that are expected to benefit from the IT revolution are quite broad, and they include trade, finance, manufacturing, agriculture, education, medicine, entertainment and the environment. This has lent IT a special significance with respect to its potential contribution to the on-going effort to bring development to poor countries. This paper seeks to take a closer look at the potential of IT from the perspective of development economics. | |||||
