| 内容記述 | In this article, I describe the value of debate in developing academic language skills in the EFL classroom and outline the steps in teaching debate in an adjunct or pre-academic content-based course. Throughout the paper, I present techniques and examples of debate build-up activities and debate preparation materials that have worked well with Japanese intermediate EFL students. In addition, I present an analysis of the outcome and student feedback from several debates done in college adjunct courses in Japan. | |||||
