内容記述 This study was designed to test the effectiveness of hastening extinction by flooding in the situation received shock and not received shock. Three groups of mice, consisting of a control and two flooding groups, were conditioned to avoid shock by running from shock room to safety room. After attained the acquisition criterion, the three groups were given different treatment. The control group was detained in safety room during 5-min. without CS and US. The flooding (SR) group was exposed to CS for 5-min. without US in safety room. The flooding (FR) group was received the 5-min. of flooding in shock room. During flooding, the mice were prevented to avoid another room. In treatment, the mice's' behavior were observed and classified according to four categories. Following treatment, all groups were received Pavlovian extinction. Flooding groups showed more fear behavior than the control group in treatment, but only the flooding (FR) group extinguished more rapidly. The results suggested that not only continuous CS exposure but other factors were necessary to facilitate the extinction of avoidance response.
