内容記述 | The present studies were designed to investigate the relationship between motor ability and personality in preschool children. In study I, high and low motor ability groups were, compared. After conducting a motor ability test on 359 children, 110 preschoolers assessed high and low in motor ability were selected as subjects, and then their personality was tested. High ability children were significantly less emotional, less dependent, and more social than low ability children. In study II, three groups, consisting of high, middle and low motor ability children, were compared. Fifty-five subjects were selected from ninety children, and they were administered the same personality test as in study I. Low ability children were significantly more emotional, more dependent, and less social than the high and middle ability children; however, there were no differences between middle ability children and high ability children. These results show that high motor ability children do not have stable emotionality and high sociality; rather, low motor ability children have unstable emotionality and poor sociality. The results suggest that there are not simply, relationships between motor ability and personality, but rather low motor ability children have a problem in their personality. | |||||
