内容記述 | This study was designed to investigate the relationship between motor ability and intelligence in preschool children. Three groups, consisting of high, middle and low motor ability children, were compared. After conducting a motor ability test on 100 children, 48 preschoolers assessed high, middle and low in motor ability were selected as subjects, and then they were administered an intelligence test. As children's motor ability became higher, they showed higher intelligence; especially, the low ability group showed significantly lower intelligence than the other two groups. And, there was a significant correlation between motor ability and intelligence. On analyzing the sub-tests in the intelligence test, significant differences were found in the combination test, picture word test and picture completion test. There was a significant correlation between motor ability and the combination test, picture word test and cancellation test. These results suggest that there are relationships between motor ability and intelligence; especially motor ability has a relationship to intellectual ability, such as abstract thinking, vocabulary and perceptual motor skill. | |||||
