内容記述 | In response to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's (MEXT) goal of "cultivating Japanese with English abilities," Miyazaki International College (MIC) designed its English teacher education program to include a collaboration with its sister high school. One of the goals of this collaboration is to facilitate the development of reflectiveness among prospective teachers. Reflectiveness is a necessary process if transformation in pedagogy is to be achieved--from an exam-oriented approach to one that genuinely cultivates English communicative abilities. Based on the reflective habits of mind advocated by John Dewey, the author will describe the uniqueness of this program and close with students in the program reflecting upon their educational experiences. | |||||
