Numerical magnitude comparison problems were analyzed by using multidimensional scaling. The most striking result of the multidimensional scaling in 4-year-children showed that numbers 1,2,and 5 were classified into a cluster. This result suggested that children understood numbers 5 as a privileged anchor for numbers below 10.
